The event happened around 03:10 BST between Riverside and Barnes Meadow Interchange, prompting an emergency response and the temporary suspension of traffic flow along the key route.

Authorities confirmed that a man was injured and later transported to University Hospital Coventry for treatment. All lanes have since reopened, restoring normal traffic conditions on the A45.

Northamptonshire Police addressed public speculation regarding the incident’s nature. A police spokesperson clarified:

"I can confirm that the incident on the A45 this morning is not part of the major emergency exercise and is in fact a live police investigation."
