British Airways Announces Final Expiry Date for Covid-19 Vouchers

British Airways urges travelers to redeem Covid-19 vouchers before September 30, 2025, as no further extensions will be granted beyond this final deadline.

British Airways has issued a final warning to UK travelers regarding the expiration of Covid-19 travel vouchers. Passengers who received vouchers for disrupted flights during the pandemic must use them by September 30, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the loss of their value. The airline had initially set an earlier expiration date but extended it multiple times, with the current deadline being the last possible extension.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced airlines to cancel thousands of flights due to global travel restrictions. Many affected passengers were offered vouchers instead of refunds, allowing them to rebook flights at a later date. These vouchers cover not only flight fares but also additional services such as seat selection, baggage, and meals. Passengers can use up to four vouchers per booking.

British Airways has clarified that if the cost of a new booking is lower than the voucher amount, a new voucher will be issued for the remaining balance. However, this replacement will also expire on September 30, 2025, without further extensions. If the booking exceeds the voucher value, travelers must pay the difference.

A British Airways spokesperson emphasized the importance of acting swiftly:

"We strongly urge customers to check their vouchers and use them before the final deadline to avoid losing their value."
